Signing of the MoU between UNNES and the Indonesian Embassy in Afghanistan

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) for Afghanistan and an Implementation of Arrangement (IoA) between UNNES and the Afghan Embassy in Indonesia, Tuesday (29/9).

The signing of this MoU is related to the implementation of education, the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning) program: Kampus Merdeka (Independent Campus), research and scientific publications, improving the quality of Human Resources (HR), seminars, workshops, focus group discussions, and various other activities.

On this occasion, the Rector of UNNES Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman MHum said, as a university that has a big vision as an internationally reputable university, UNNES continues to establish institutional cooperation with various partners both at locally and abroad.

“Alhamdulillah, UNNES received an award as a university that is thick with the practice of Islamic values, so that it becomes a university that is ranked 1st in the world as the 4ICU version of the Islamic University,” said the Sociolinguistics Professor.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Afghanistan His Excellency (HE) Maj. Gen. (Ret.) TNI Dr. Arif Rachman MD expressed his pride to be present at the UNNES campus.

“I am proud to be able to visit the UNNES campus. UNNES is a pride, one of the best campuses, not one of them but the only best campus in Indonesia. Therefore, I am proud to be an Indonesian, “said Dr Arif Rachman.

Besides the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Afghanistan, the signing of the MoU and IoA was also attended by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Indonesia His Excellency (HE) Faizullah Zaki.

HE Faizullah Zaki conveyed his pride in being able to work in Indonesia and getting to know many cultures of the archipelago. For UNNES, the implementation of partnership cooperation at both national and international levels is a real step in affirming its identity as an internationally reputable campus. In the future, UNNES will continue to increase the quantity and quality of cooperation between institutions which are expected to have an impact on the development of superior resources on the UNNES campus and become a contribution to society.
