Peneliti UNNES Ungkap Peran Perempuan Pesisir, Bertahan di Tengah Rob dan Abrasi

Ketangguhan perempuan pesisir dalam menghadapi perubahan lingkungan menjadi perhatian penting dalam upaya menjaga keberlanjutan kehidupan masyarakat pesisir. Peran strategis mereka tidak hanya terlihat dalam lingkup domestik, tetapi juga dalam menjaga stabilitas ekonomi keluarga di tengah tekanan lingkungan.

Hal tersebut tergambar pada kondisi perempuan pesisir di Desa Timbulsloko, Kabupaten Demak, Jawa Tengah, yang terus beradaptasi menghadapi dampak rob dan abrasi yang memengaruhi kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat setempat.

Temuan ini diungkap dalam penelitian sosial yang dilakukan oleh peneliti FISIP Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Dr. Sos Puji Lestari bersama tim. Kajian tersebut menyoroti peran perempuan dalam menopang ekonomi keluarga sekaligus menghadapi tantangan lingkungan pesisir.

“Perempuan pesisir memiliki peran ganda, baik dalam rumah tangga maupun dalam menopang ekonomi keluarga. Dalam situasi krisis seperti di Timbulsloko, mereka menjadi penggerak utama dalam strategi adaptasi,” ujar Puji Lestari.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara terperinci, observasi lapangan, serta dokumentasi aktivitas sosial-ekonomi masyarakat. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan terlibat aktif dalam berbagai upaya bertahan di tengah kondisi lingkungan yang terus berubah.

Berbagai strategi dilakukan, di antaranya mengolah hasil laut menjadi produk bernilai tambah, melakukan diversifikasi usaha, serta mengelola sumber daya secara lebih efisien untuk menjaga keberlangsungan ekonomi keluarga.

Upaya tersebut juga berkontribusi dalam menjaga keseimbangan lingkungan pesisir yang terus tertekan akibat rob dan abrasi. Dalam praktiknya, perempuan turut memastikan pemanfaatan sumber daya tetap berjalan secara berkelanjutan.

Namun demikian, penelitian ini juga menemukan sejumlah kendala yang masih dihadapi perempuan pesisir, seperti keterbatasan akses terhadap informasi dan sumber daya, serta rendahnya keterlibatan dalam pengambilan keputusan.

“Pendekatan partisipatif diperlukan agar perempuan dapat terlibat lebih aktif dalam penanganan persoalan pesisir,” kata Puji.

Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan dalam penyusunan kebijakan yang lebih responsif terhadap kondisi masyarakat pesisir, baik dari aspek lingkungan maupun pemberdayaan sosial. Penelitian tersebut menegaskan bahwa perempuan pesisir tidak hanya menjadi kelompok terdampak, tetapi juga memiliki peran strategis dalam menjaga keberlanjutan kehidupan di wilayah pesisir.
