Mahasiswa Ilmu Lingkungan UNNES Perkuat Kolaborasi Internasional melalui Magang di Direktorat Nasional Perubahan Iklim Timor-Leste dan Partisipasi pada ASEAN Youth Economic Forum

Forum ASEAN Youth Economic Forum 2025 di Kuala Lumpur yang membahas perubahan iklim dan ekonomi berketahanan iklim.

Mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Lingkungan, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Josue Willian Alwyn, memperluas pengalaman internasional melalui program magang di Direktorat Nasional Perubahan Iklim Timor-Leste pada Januari 2025, yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan partisipasi dalam ASEAN Youth Economic Forum (AYEF) 2025 di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, pada Februari 2025. Kegiatan ini menjadi bagian dari komitmen FMIPA UNNES dalam memperkuat kolaborasi internasional, meningkatkan kompetensi global mahasiswa, serta mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Selama menjalani magang di Direktorat Nasional Perubahan Iklim Timor-Leste, Josue bertugas melakukan input data fisik Integrated Vulnerability Assessment (IVA) serta menyusun draft laporan IVA mengenai kerentanan masyarakat terhadap perubahan iklim dan risiko bencana. Data tersebut menjadi bagian penting dalam penyusunan basis data nasional yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat kerentanan masyarakat sekaligus mendukung perencanaan kebijakan adaptasi perubahan iklim di Timor-Leste.

Melalui kegiatan ini, FMIPA UNNES berpartisipasi dalam kolaborasi internasional untuk mengumpulkan dan mengelola data yang mendukung pencapaian SDGs, khususnya data mengenai kerentanan masyarakat terhadap perubahan iklim, risiko bencana, dan ketahanan wilayah. Keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam penyusunan Integrated Vulnerability Assessment (IVA) menunjukkan kontribusi nyata fakultas dalam mendukung pengembangan data ilmiah yang menjadi dasar penyusunan kebijakan adaptasi perubahan iklim di tingkat internasional.

Setelah menyelesaikan program magang, Josue melanjutkan partisipasinya pada ASEAN Youth Economic Forum (AYEF) 2025 yang diselenggarakan di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Forum bergengsi hasil kolaborasi ASEAN–Mekong Economic Cooperation Institute (AMEICC) dan ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) tersebut mengangkat tema “Climate Change and Building a Climate-Resilient Economy”, yang membahas peran generasi muda dalam membangun ekonomi yang tangguh dan berkelanjutan di tengah tantangan perubahan iklim. Forum ini mempertemukan pemuda dari berbagai negara ASEAN untuk bertukar pengalaman, gagasan, dan inovasi dalam mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan.

Melalui pengalaman magang di Timor-Leste dan partisipasi dalam AYEF 2025, FMIPA UNNES turut mengembangkan kolaborasi dan pembelajaran internasional untuk meninjau pendekatan komparatif serta mengadopsi praktik-praktik terbaik dalam penanganan perubahan iklim dan pembangunan berkelanjutan. Pertukaran pengalaman dengan pemerintah Timor-Leste serta pemuda dari berbagai negara ASEAN memberikan wawasan mengenai berbagai strategi adaptasi perubahan iklim, asesmen kerentanan masyarakat, dan pembangunan ekonomi berketahanan iklim yang dapat menjadi referensi dalam pengembangan pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di UNNES.

Kegiatan ini mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), terutama SDG 13 (Climate Action) melalui peningkatan kapasitas dalam adaptasi perubahan iklim dan asesmen kerentanan masyarakat, SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) melalui kolaborasi internasional dengan Direktorat Nasional Perubahan Iklim Timor-Leste dan jejaring pemuda ASEAN, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) melalui penguatan ketahanan masyarakat terhadap risiko bencana, serta SDG 4 (Quality Education) melalui pengalaman pembelajaran internasional yang memperkaya kompetensi mahasiswa di bidang lingkungan dan keberlanjutan.
