SEMARANG – The Master’s Program in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), held a socialization activity for the Master’s Program in Physics at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Walisongo Semarang on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

The activity, which took place at Campus 3, FST Building, Room 2.5, 2nd Floor, UIN Walisongo Semarang, was part of FMIPA UNNES’ effort to introduce the Master’s Program in Physics to prospective students, alumni, lecturers, physics teachers, and members of the public who are interested in continuing their studies at the master’s level.

The Master’s Program in Physics at FMIPA UNNES serves as a platform for developing scientific expertise in physics with an orientation toward research, innovation, and academic competency strengthening. The program is directed toward supporting studies in computational physics, materials, instrumentation, renewable energy, and the integration of science to respond to the development of science and technology.

This socialization activity aimed to provide information about the existence and strengths of the Master’s Program in Physics at FMIPA UNNES. In addition, the activity introduced participants to the curriculum, fields of study, graduate prospects, scholarship opportunities, research directions, and student admission mechanisms.

The activity featured two speakers from FMIPA UNNES, namely Prof. Dr. Supriyadi, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Masturi, M.Si. Both attended as resource persons in the socialization of the Master’s Program in Physics at FMIPA UNNES held at FST UIN Walisongo Semarang.

During the session, participants received explanations about the Master’s Program in Physics at FMIPA UNNES, including its academic orientation, areas of study, research development, graduate prospects, scholarship opportunities, and admission process. The materials also emphasized the importance of pursuing advanced studies in physics to strengthen research capacity, scientific analysis, and science-based innovation.

The activity was attended by participants from various backgrounds, including undergraduate students of Physics and Physics Education at FST UIN Walisongo, alumni, lecturers, senior high school, Islamic senior high school, and vocational school physics teachers, as well as members of the public who are interested in pursuing master’s studies. Through this activity, participants were expected to gain more comprehensive information about study pathways, research fields, and career development opportunities through the Master’s Program in Physics at FMIPA UNNES.

The activity also served as a strategic forum to introduce the development direction of the Master’s Program in Physics as a postgraduate program that supports the improvement of human resource quality in science and technology.

Representatives of FMIPA UNNES and FST UIN Walisongo Semarang exchanged a token of appreciation as a symbol of strengthened academic networking during the Master’s Program in Physics socialization activity.

The activity also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through wider access to postgraduate education information and increased interest in continuing studies in physics. In addition, the activity aligns with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) because the Master’s Program in Physics encourages research development in materials, instrumentation, computational physics, and renewable energy. This activity also supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the strengthening of academic cooperation and networks between FMIPA UNNES and FST UIN Walisongo Semarang.

Through the socialization of the Master’s Program in Physics, FMIPA UNNES hopes that more prospective students will become familiar with opportunities for continuing their studies in physics.
