Semarang, June 30, 2026 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), held a Faculty-Level Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Roadmap Preparation Workshop at Smart Classroom D6 FMIPA. This activity was one of FMIPA’s strategic programs in faculty development to strengthen the implementation of sustainable development through the integration of SDGs into the implementation of the tridarma of higher education and faculty governance. This workshop became an initial step in preparing the FMIPA SDGs roadmap as a guideline for developing policies, programs, and activities that are aligned with the principles of sustainable development.

The workshop was attended by the leadership of FMIPA UNNES, including Zaenal Abidin, S.Si., M.Cs., Ph.D., as Vice Dean I for Academic and Student Affairs; Dr. Isnarto, M.Si., as Vice Dean II for Planning and Resources; and Prof. Dr. Sutikno, M.T., as Vice Dean III for Business, Research, and Cooperation. Also present were Prof. Dr. Sigit Priatmoko, M.Si., as Head of the FMIPA Integrated Laboratory, all Study Program Coordinators, Laboratory Coordinators, and Heads of Units within FMIPA UNNES. Prof. Nana Kariada, Head of the UNNES Conservation Subdirectorate and also a lecturer at FMIPA, also attended the activity as a form of support for strengthening SDGs implementation at the faculty level.

This activity aimed to align perceptions and improve the understanding of the academic community regarding the concept and implementation of SDGs in higher education. Before the baseline and roadmap are prepared, a shared understanding of the essence of SDGs is needed so that the direction of policies, programs, and indicators can be integrated with education, research, community service, and faculty governance activities.

As a speaker, FMIPA invited Dr. Rukuh Setiadi, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., from the SDGs Center of Universitas Diponegoro. In his presentation, he explained the strategic role of higher education institutions in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through policy strengthening, innovation, collaboration, and the integration of SDGs into all tridarma activities. The discussion was interactive, with various inputs from participants regarding opportunities for SDGs implementation at the faculty and study program levels. The workshop was guided by moderator Dr. Sunarno, M.Si., who is a member of the SDGs and Conservation Unit of FMIPA UNNES.

The speaker delivered material on the role of higher education institutions in supporting the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals within FMIPA UNNES.

Through this activity, FMIPA UNNES affirmed its commitment to preparing a comprehensive SDGs roadmap as the basis for developing faculty programs and policies in the coming years. The roadmap is expected to serve as a reference in integrating sustainability values into all tridarma activities, while also strengthening FMIPA’s contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, through the strengthening of collaboration and synergy among stakeholders.
