Updating the Curriculum, Physics Study Program Presents Medical Physicists from AIPFMI

On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the Undergraduate Physics Study Program of Semarang State University (UNNES) held an insightful discussion and FGD regarding the development of the Medical Physics Concentration Series curriculum. In this event, Zaenal Arifin, M.Sc. F.Med., from the Alliance of Indonesian Medical Physics Institutions (AIPFMI), was invited as the main resource person to provide perspectives regarding the updating of the Undergraduate Physics Study Program curriculum. This discussion aims to evaluate and refine the curriculum material to be more in line with the latest developments in the field of medical physics.

Zaenal Arifin, M.Sc. F.Med., in his presentation conveyed the various challenges and opportunities that arise in integrating medical physics into physics education. He also emphasized the importance of adjusting the curriculum to the rapid development of medical technology and the needs of the health industry. This event was attended by lecturers from the Physics Cluster of Semarang State University who actively discussed to formulate strategic steps in designing a relevant and applicable curriculum.

This activity is expected to provide valuable guidance in developing the curriculum of the Undergraduate Physics Study Program of Semarang State University, especially in the Medical Physics Concentration Series. With input from experienced speakers, it is expected that graduates of the Undergraduate Physics Study Program of UNNES can have stronger competencies and be ready to face challenges in the world of work, especially in the health sector that requires medical physics expertise.
