Tim dosen Geografi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Negeri Semarang (FISIP UNNES), yang terdiri atas Prof. Dr. Heri Tjahjono, M.Si., Fahrudin Hanafi, dan Aprillia Findayani, melaksanakan kegiatan penguatan kapasitas masyarakat dalam menghadapi ancaman tanah longsor di Desa Banyukuning, Kecamatan Bandungan, Kabupaten Semarang.

Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis masyarakat. Warga tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan mengenai karakteristik dan risiko bencana longsor, tetapi juga terlibat langsung dalam Focus Group Discussion (FGD), simulasi pengurangan risiko bencana, penyusunan jalur evakuasi, dan penentuan titik kumpul.

Desa Banyukuning merupakan wilayah yang memiliki tingkat kerawanan longsor cukup tinggi. Berdasarkan pemetaan kawasan, sekitar 102,72 hektare wilayah desa berada pada tingkat bahaya longsor tinggi, 485,84 hektare pada tingkat bahaya sedang, dan 283,21 hektare pada tingkat bahaya rendah. Secara keseluruhan, kawasan yang diklasifikasikan mencapai sekitar 871,77 hektare.

Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan pentingnya peningkatan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat. Desa Banyukuning tercatat pernah mengalami sembilan kejadian longsor pada periode 2012–2017 dan enam kejadian pada 2018–2021. Karena itu, keterampilan warga dalam mengenali ancaman, menentukan respons, dan melakukan evakuasi menjadi bagian penting dari pengurangan risiko bencana.

Dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan, masyarakat mengikuti simulasi penanganan risiko longsor secara langsung. Warga dilibatkan dalam diskusi mengenai kawasan rawan, pembuatan jalur evakuasi, penentuan titik aman, serta latihan respons yang harus dilakukan ketika tanda-tanda longsor muncul.

Tim juga menggunakan pendekatan community-based disaster risk management, yakni menempatkan masyarakat sebagai pelaku utama dalam pengurangan risiko bencana. Pendekatan tersebut bertujuan agar kesiapsiagaan tidak hanya bergantung pada intervensi dari luar, tetapi menjadi kapasitas yang dimiliki masyarakat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
