OBJECTIVES
The Master’s Program (S2) in English Language Education at Faculty of Languages of Arts aims to:
1. Produce graduates who have a comprehensive mastery of language education theory, linguistics, and literacy; are capable of implementing innovative teaching methods; are adaptable to technological advancements; and possess professional character and ethical standards.
2. To enhance the quality and quantity of research in the field of English Language Education, focusing on academic development, learning innovations, scientific publications, and the application of research findings to improve educational quality.
3. To conduct community service initiatives grounded in research outcomes and aligned with the needs of stakeholders and the community.
4. Establishing an effective, transparent, accountable, and quality-assurance-based program management system to ensure the enhancement of the three pillars of higher education and the sustainable development of the program.
5. Fostering collaborative partnerships at the national and international levels that support the improvement of education, research, and community service, while continuously enhancing the program’s academic reputation.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Master’s Program in English Language Education is a graduate program in the field of English language education that prepares teachers, lecturers, instructors, and English language education practitioners in the context of teaching English as a foreign language. Students are equipped with knowledge and skills regarding approaches, methods, techniques, and strategies for English language learning based on Second Language Acquisition theory, sociocultural theory, Systemic Functional Linguistics, and technology-enhanced English language teaching and learning, ensuring graduates possess pedagogical competencies, personal competencies, professional competencies, and social competencies.
Character development is also a key focus in shaping graduates who exhibit collaborative, creative, communicative, and critical-thinking traits. In addition to an outcome-based education learning process, academic activities in the Master’s Program in English Language Education include research and community service initiatives involving students and collaborations with partner educational institutions both domestically and internationally, including: visiting professors, joint lectures, workshops, collaborative research and community service projects, writing research articles and book chapters, as well as alumni networking development at the regional, national, and international levels.
