“Economic revival can be encouraged by involving young people or students so that the effort to revive the Indonesian economy continues”.
“Therefore, I invite students to play a role in striving for achievement while at the same time trying to apply the knowledge that has been obtained to be practiced in society and can start becoming entrepreneurs”.
This was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr HC Ir Airlangga Hartarto, MBA MMT when delivering a scientific oration at the 3rd Lustrum 15th Anniversary ceremony in 2021, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Semarang, held virtually on Thursday (10/6).
Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto also encouraged the UNNES academic community to be able to realize its vision as an internationally reputable conservation university in economic activities based on Sustainability or sustainable economy.
“UNNES lecturers and students are expected to be able to realize their vision as an an internationally reputable conservation university which means economic activity based on systemability or sustainable economy,” explained Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
In addition, Coordinating Minister Airlanga conveyed that the government gave priority to the recovery of MSMEs because of their strategic role for the national economy where they contributed 61.1% to GDP and absorbed 97% of the workforce or 116 million workers.
“This means that if MSMEs recover, the country’s economy will also recover soon,” said the Coordinating Minister.
The Coordinating Minister added that the government is also carrying out structural reforms through the ratification of Law No. 11 on job creation. This reform will certainly encourage the creation of government services that are more efficient, easy and transparent and this process will go through the OSS which is currently being piloted.
Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister said to optimize investment, the government has increased investment and has formed an investment management institution which is expected to increase investment in Indonesia, he concluded.
