Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization through various strategic initiatives. One of the concrete steps taken was holding a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled Increasing International Cooperation, Strategic Partnerships, and Foreign Promotion, which was held on Wednesday (05/15) at Joglo Ramayana, Melva Balemong Resort Ungaran.
The event was attended by university leaders, such as the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Business, and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM. and University Secretary, Prof. Dr. Sugianto, M.Si.
In addition to Vice Rector IV and University Secretary, this activity was also attended by the Vice Dean for Field I, Vice Dean for Field III, Director of Directorate, Cooperation Group, and Public Relations Group within UNNES.
Present as resource persons, Yayat Hendayana, S.S., M.Si. (Coordinator of Cooperation and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Higher Education Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Culture and Technology), Firman Hidayat, S.S., M.Si. (Sub. Coordinator of Cooperation of the Directorate General of Higher Education Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Culture and Technology), and Assoc. Prof. Maria Anityasari, Ph.D. (Head of ITS Global Engagement).
In his speech, Prof. Nur Qudus emphasized the importance of increasing international cooperation to achieve UNNES’s vision as a world-class university that excels in education, research, and community service.
“Through this activity, we hope to formulate a comprehensive strategy to promote study programs and expand the global partnership network to improve the performance of IKU 6 as a support for the achievements of 7 others IKU,” said Prof. Nur Qudus.
This interactive discussion discussed various strategic topics, from identifying cooperation partners as the main gateway to international branding, optimizing social media and digital platforms, and developing promotional content that suits local cultures and preferences in various countries.
The participants also discussed the importance of increasing lecturer and student mobility innovations in international programs and the opportunities and challenges of collaborating with global educational institutions.
Through this activity, UNNES hopes to expand its international network further and improve the quality of education through closer global collaboration.
