Universities play a crucial role in producing high-quality graduates and contributing to national development. The quality of graduates serves as a long-term investment in human resources for the future.
One of the key factors strengthening a university’s role in education is the presence of productive and competent lecturers and staff. Therefore, it is essential for university leaders to continuously enhance employee productivity.
To achieve this, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has established several income schemes aimed at improving the welfare and performance of its lecturers and staff. This initiative recognizes the strong correlation between employee income and work productivity.
The salary structure at UNNES follows national regulations, including Law No. 5 of 2014 on the State Civil Apparatus (ASN Law) and Government Regulation No. 5 of 2024. In accordance with these regulations, the salaries of UNNES employees are generally equivalent to those of civil servants in other government institutions.
Beyond the standard salary framework, UNNES has introduced special policies to further enhance employee earnings. One of these initiatives is outlined in Rector’s Regulation No. 37 of 2023 on the Remuneration System of Universitas Negeri Semarang, designed to strengthen employee motivation and productivity.
Under this regulation, UNNES implements a remuneration system that provides additional income in the form of allowances and performance-based rewards. As a result, the university offers higher compensation than the minimum salary mandated by the government.
Through this remuneration-based payment system, UNNES aims to boost the productivity of its lecturers and staff—ultimately improving the overall quality of education and institutional performance.
