Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) once again demonstrated its global engagement through the Lantip International Program. UNNES Lantip International students successfully initiated the SMARISH FEST 2025 Innovation Festival at SMA Irshadiah Perak, Malaysia, from August 18 to 29, 2025.
The festival featured two flagship programs, SciVentures and Gobak Sodor Economics, both designed to create a distinctive learning atmosphere by integrating education, sports, and creativity in a series of activities.
Through SciVentures, students combined science, English, and technology in resin-making activities. Not only did they produce unique creations such as keychains and pins, but they also practiced English communication skills and explored technology through digital games.
“With SciVentures, we want students to be bold in experimenting while also learning to collaborate. It is not just about theory but also about engaging in enjoyable practice,” said Carina Nur Laili Ismail, Leader of the UNNES Lantip International Team in Malaysia.
Equally engaging, the Gobak Sodor Economics program merged traditional sports with economics learning. While running and strategizing on the field, students faced challenges in the form of economics cards containing topics such as inflation, taxation, and insurance.
“We want economics lessons to feel more relevant to everyday life. Through this game, students can learn while moving and also train their emotions when facing pressure,” explained Nurin Nufus Zakiyah, a team member.
The festival activities were held intensively, including technical meetings, resin exploration, preliminary and final rounds of Gobak Sodor Economics, and a resin workshop concluded with a student project exhibition and judging.
Behind the success of this event was the hard work of the UNNES Lantip International student team, led by Carina Nur Laili Ismail, with members Nurin Nufus Zakiyah, Tieska Arelia Putri, Zahra Selanova, Ardela Putri Fernanda, and Eka Susanti.
SMARISH FEST 2025 proved that learning can be creatively packaged in a fun and engaging way. More than just enhancing knowledge, the program fostered collaboration, innovation, and prepared young generations to face global challenges with confidence.
