UNNES Resmikan Gedung FMIPA, Perkuat Pembelajaran dan Riset

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) meresmikan gedung perkuliahan dan laboratorium baru Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) pada Senin (6/7). Peresmian tersebut menjadi upaya UNNES dalam memperkuat kualitas pembelajaran, penelitian, dan layanan akademik.

Dekan FMIPA UNNES Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Si., menyampaikan rasa syukur atas selesainya pembangunan gedung yang menjadi fasilitas baru bagi pengembangan pembelajaran, riset, dan inovasi di FMIPA.

“Pada kesempatan yang berbahagia ini, kami mengucapkan terima kasih yang sebesar-besarnya. Warga FMIPA menyambut dengan gembira hadirnya gedung baru ini. Mari kita sambut gedung baru ini dengan semangat baru,” ujarnya.

Menurutnya, kehadiran gedung baru bukan sekadar penambahan fasilitas, tetapi juga menjadi tanggung jawab bersama untuk terus meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Gedung tersebut diharapkan menjadi ruang lahirnya inovasi, kolaborasi, dan karya ilmiah yang mendukung visi UNNES.

Gedung perkuliahan dan laboratorium FMIPA dibangun dalam dua tahap pada tahun anggaran 2025 dan 2026. Bangunan tersebut berdiri di atas lahan seluas 2.470 meter persegi dengan total luas bangunan mencapai 18.432 meter persegi.

Gedung terdiri atas delapan lantai dan menjadi gedung tertinggi di lingkungan kampus berdasarkan elevasi lokasinya. Lantai pertama difungsikan sebagai lobi, ruang dosen, ruang program studi, dan ruang data. Sementara itu, lantai dua hingga lantai tujuh dilengkapi co-working space, ruang kelas, ruang karantina, dan ruang ujian yang mendukung proses pembelajaran. Pada bagian rooftop juga direncanakan pemasangan panel surya sebagai bagian dari upaya mendukung kemandirian energi.

Rektor UNNES Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Si., berharap gedung baru tersebut dapat semakin memperkuat ekosistem riset dan pembelajaran di FMIPA. Menurutnya, fasilitas yang tersedia perlu dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk menghasilkan lebih banyak inovasi dan publikasi ilmiah.

“Dengan fasilitas yang baru ini, mari kita jaga, rawat, dan manfaatkan sebaik-baiknya,” ujarnya.

Peresmian gedung ditandai dengan prosesi pemotongan pita dan tumpeng oleh Rektor UNNES bersama Dekan FMIPA sebagai simbol dimulainya pemanfaatan gedung perkuliahan dan laboratorium baru.

Kehadiran fasilitas tersebut diharapkan semakin mendukung pengembangan pendidikan, penelitian, dan inovasi di FMIPA serta memperkuat kontribusi UNNES dalam menghasilkan sumber daya manusia dan karya ilmiah yang berdampak bagi masyarakat.
