In order to support the vision of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) to become an internationally reputed conservation-oriented university, a breakthrough is needed in accelerating the internationalization program of UNNES. One indicator of its achievement is the increasing number of foreign students studying at UNNES both full-time students and short course participants as well as summer courses programs or other activities organized by UNNES.
To that end, UNNES through the International Office and the Subdivision of International Cooperation made a breakthrough by participating in 2018 College Counseling Day in Ho Chi Minh City on July 14, 2018 to conduct promotional activities at UNNES international classes and short courses. The event, which was facilitated by the HCMC Vietnam Republican Consulate General, was conducted to provide information that became an introduction to UNNES to prospective foreign students in Ho Chi Minh City so they were interested in studying at UNNES.
The promotion was represented by the Head of International Office UNNES, Intan Permata Hapsari, and the Head of the UNNES International Cooperation Subdivision, Ledi Diana, carried out by distributing flyers to passing visitors along the road in the activity area, and explaining 13 Strata-1 international classes, programs scholarships, and types of short courses owned by UNNES to visitors who visit the booth.
The 2018 College Counseling Day was attended by 80 educational institutions in HCMC and the surrounding provinces, both state and private universities, as well as education agents that market education abroad such as in the UK and USA.
College Counseling Day is an annual activity organized by mass media Tuoi Tre in collaboration with Polytechnic University, VNU-HCM. The implementation of 2018 is the 16th time.
