In support of its internationalization agenda, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), through the Institute for Educational and Professional Development (LPPP), officially dispatched 31 students to participate in the International LANTIP Program across four destination countries: Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.

The official send-off ceremony took place on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the UNNES campus and was attended by university leaders. Among those present were Vice Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, M.Si., Akt., and Vice Rector IV for Cooperation, Business, and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, MT, IPM.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Zaenuri emphasized that the students participating in the International LANTIP Program carry not only academic missions but also cultural and educational diplomacy. He reminded them of the importance of upholding proper conduct, ethics, and integrity throughout their overseas experience.

“UNNES students joining the International LANTIP Program represent not only the university but also the nation. Uphold the spirit of learning, maintain respectful social interactions, and embody the courteous and adaptive character of Indonesia,” he stated.

Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus also highlighted the importance of international collaboration as a reflection of UNNES’s commitment to strengthening its global presence. By sending students abroad, the university aims to broaden its international partnerships and create mutually beneficial academic exchanges. He also advised the students to be well-prepared in order to adapt to their new environments.

The International LANTIP Program is designed to provide students with contextual learning opportunities, enabling them to understand the dynamics of global education and societies. During the program, participants will engage in teaching practicum for approximately one month at partner educational institutions in each host country.

This initiative also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering strategic cross-border collaboration and enhancing the global competencies of future Indonesian educators.

Through the International LANTIP Program, UNNES reinforces its position as a globally oriented university committed to producing graduates who are internationally competitive and nationally grounded.
