Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) and Universitas Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) collaborated to hold an International Conference on Emerging Engineering and Environmental Sciences (ICEES2018) in Selangor Malaysia. This international conference was attended by participants from Indonesia and Malaysia. Cooperation between the two universities is the result of long-established partnerships. Last year UNNES and UPSI also held a similar conference entitled International Conference on Engineering Technology, Vocational Education and Social Science (ICETVESS). The output of this conference will produce articles in the journal indexed by Scopus.
Drs. Heri Yanto MBA., PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Economics UNNES, delivered a speech on behalf of the Chancellor of UNNES at the event. Heri Yanto stated that UNNES is proud to be able to side with UPSI in the procurement of this conference. This activity proves that university cooperation can be realized to achieve academic benefits for both universities.
Dr. Niken Subekti, coordinator of the UNNES delegation stated that this activity was one of the important activities of the target of UNNES internationalization. In terms of activities and outputs, this conference has fulfilled the requirements as an activity that supports the vision of UNNES internationalization. Niken is fighting for this international conference to be held at UNNES next year.
Through telephone calls, the Chancellor of UNNES, Prof. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum, expressed his highest appreciation to the conference committee both from UPSI and UNNES. The Chancellor hopes similar activities can be a role model for units at UNNES to realize MoU, MoA and MoM that have been signed with partner universities. International conferences are the minimum target of foreign cooperation. Other targets can be credit transfer programs, research collaborations and staff / faculty exchanges.
