After signing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Rector of Universitas Negeri Smarang (UNNES) Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum and the Ambassador of Republic Indonesia in Singapore, I Gede Ngurah Swajaya on Thursday, March 30 at UNNES, Education and Culture Attaché of Indonesian Embassy in Singapore did the audience with the rector of UNNES in UNNES campus, Gunungpati on Friday (31/3).
Attaché for Education and Culture of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, Prof. Dr. Ir Aisyah Endah Palupi MPd conveyed the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding. It includes the development of three main points of higher education and improving the quality of human resources, science, and technology. The implementation of those values will be bridged by Attaché of Indonesian Embassy in Singapore.
The implemented activities could be overseas teaching internship of UNNES’s students in Singapore’s Indonesian School, internships, or even community service.
Teaching internship is very important to train students to apply their knowledge in the real situation, either teaching activities or non-teaching activities to become professional workers.
In addition, the Attaché of Indonesian Embassy also offered an opportunity for UNNES’s lectures to conduct Joint Research with University in Singapore.
UNNES’ Rector, Prof. Fathur Rokhman, explained that college should increase the capacity of human resources. In addition, college should make a good cooperation with other institutions for the sake of developing innovation and global competition.
UNNES competes with the other university in the world. This competition makes the conservation university has the same position with the other ones
Overseas teaching internship focuses on students in 10 international programs that has been initiated, which consequently will not make them have culture and language barriers. Hopefully, this expansion of international cooperation can enhance UNNES’ reputation.
