UNNES has a vision of development until 2040 as a University with Conservation Insight and International Reputation. Conservation University is a university that in the implementation of education, research, and community service has a concept that refers to conservation principles (protection, preservation, and sustainable use) both conservation of natural resources, the environment, art and culture. UNNES as one of the conservation universities, has seven main pillars, namely:

A tangible form as a conservation campus capable of managing waste, UNNES has an Integrated Waste Treatment Plant (TPST). This TPST is also a manifestation of UNNES’s concern and seriousness in maintaining and conserving the environment. This TPST is an organic waste processing site that is managed and held directly by the UNNES Conservation Development UPT. This TPST is located in Gang Ki Ageng Gribik, Sekaran, Gunungpati, or across the UNNES Main Gate.

TPST UNNES in addition to collecting and processing waste from the UNNES campus environment also processes waste from the surrounding community. These wastes are initially collected and then sorted and sorted between organic waste and inorganic waste or plastic waste. These sorted organic wastes are then processed into useful products and have selling value. In this TPST, it has also used tools and machines that help human work in processing these wastes.
