Sustainable Waste Management on Campus: Towards Environmental Conservation and Indonesian Culture
UNNES has a vision of development until 2040 as a University with Conservation Insight and International Reputation. Conservation University is a university that in the implementation of education, research, and community service has a concept that refers to conservation principles (protection, preservation, and sustainable use) both conservation of natural resources, the environment, art and culture. UNNES as one of the conservation universities, has seven main pillars, namely:
A tangible form as a conservation campus capable of managing waste, UNNES has an Integrated Waste Treatment Plant (TPST). This TPST is also a manifestation of UNNES’s concern and seriousness in maintaining and conserving the environment. This TPST is an organic waste processing site that is managed and held directly by the UNNES Conservation Development UPT. This TPST is located in Gang Ki Ageng Gribik, Sekaran, Gunungpati, or across the UNNES Main Gate.
TPST UNNES in addition to collecting and processing waste from the UNNES campus environment also processes waste from the surrounding community. These wastes are initially collected and then sorted and sorted between organic waste and inorganic waste or plastic waste. These sorted organic wastes are then processed into useful products and have selling value. In this TPST, it has also used tools and machines that help human work in processing these wastes.
Through the UNNES Global Short Course program, we invite you to participate in waste management as a tangible form of the surrounding environment. Packed in interesting and applicable activities.
Provide opportunities for International Students to acquire Conservation and Environmental knowledge and skills, exchange ideas and culture, and build relationships with UNNES.

One of the pillars in the Conservation is the waste management pillar. The waste management pillar aims to reduce, manage, supervise waste and waste production, and improve environmental conditions at UNNES to realize a clean and healthy environment. Students will learn how UNNES manages ZERO WASTE with the off-campus community.
Off-campus community has several Islamic boarding schools, namely Ponpes Durrotu Aswaja Banaran, Al-Asror Patemon Islamic boarding school, Al-Uswah Pakintelan, and Sunan Gunung Jati Ba’alawy, Malon. UNNES presences to motivate and build the international exposure in those fours Islamic Boarding Scholl which established partnership.
Rumah Aman UNNES is a professional social humanitarian organization within Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). Aims to empower the ummah and manifest the teachings of Islam as the biggest religion.
It is a creative business that utilizes leaf waste in the environment around UNNES. The bones or leaf fibers are used as a painting medium worth hundreds of thousands of rupiah.
It is a combination of these two sports badminton and tennis, some of the game procedures and rules of tonnis are also the result of modifications or a combination of both. Tonnis can be played in singles or doubles.
