Silver Medal at SEA Games 2025: Dwi Tiga Putri Brings Pride to UNNES and Indonesia

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has once again achieved international recognition through the accomplishment of one of its lecturers at a major Southeast Asian sporting event. Dwi Tiga Putri, M.Pd., a lecturer in the Elementary School Physical Education Study Program, Faculty of Sports Science (FIK), secured a silver medal in the women’s team fairway woodball event at the SEA Games 2025 held in Thailand.

This achievement demonstrates that members of the UNNES academic community are capable of making tangible contributions to enhancing Indonesia’s reputation at the regional level. It is also expected to inspire other members of the university community to continue striving for excellence.

The accomplishment not only brings pride to Indonesia but also stands as a significant honor for UNNES, where Dwi Tiga Putri serves as an educator. Her dual role as both lecturer and athlete has not hindered her ability to perform at the highest international level. This success is expected to motivate UNNES lecturers and students alike to balance academic and non-academic pursuits effectively.

The silver medal further strengthens Indonesia’s overall achievements at the SEA Games 2025 and highlights the considerable potential of woodball to grow and compete at both regional and international levels. This accomplishment is expected to encourage broader attention and development efforts for the sport in the future.

Dwi Tiga Putri’s success also underscores the powerful synergy between academia and sports in producing outstanding achievements. Beyond representing personal accomplishment, her success reinforces UNNES’ role in nurturing high-achieving individuals capable of competing globally. It further affirms the university’s commitment to being a conservation-oriented institution with international competitiveness.

This achievement aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through the advancement of women in competitive sports; SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the exemplary role of a lecturer who excels in athletics; SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) in the development of national sports; and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) through the promotion of healthy and active lifestyles.

Such alignment strengthens UNNES’ contribution to sustainable development through education and sporting excellence.
