Perkuat Riset Teknologi Hijau, 45 Mahasiswa Teknik Mesin Ikuti Joint Research di Malaysia

Sebagai upaya meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa di bidang teknologi hijau, Fakultas Teknik (FT) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) mengikutsertakan 45 mahasiswa Program Studi Teknik Mesin dalam program Joint Research di Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Malaysia.

Program kolaborasi internasional tersebut berfokus pada dua bidang teknologi masa depan, yakni energi terbarukan (renewable energy) dan komposit berbahan serat alam (natural fiber composites). Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa akan memperoleh pengalaman riset internasional yang mendukung pengembangan inovasi teknologi berkelanjutan.

Wakil Dekan Bidang Bisnis, Riset, dan Kerja Sama FT UNNES, Rusiyanto, S.Pd., M.T., menyampaikan apresiasi sekaligus harapannya kepada seluruh mahasiswa yang mengikuti program tersebut.

“Kami berharap 45 mahasiswa Teknik Mesin ini tidak hanya menyerap pengetahuan dan teknologi hijau terkini di UMPSA, tetapi juga mampu menghasilkan luaran riset bersama yang inovatif dan bereputasi. Ini merupakan langkah nyata FT UNNES dalam mendukung transisi energi global dan pengembangan material ramah lingkungan yang sejalan dengan target SDGs, sekaligus memperkuat kapasitas mahasiswa di tingkat internasional,” ujar Rusiyanto saat melepas keberangkatan mahasiswa.

Selama berada di UMPSA Malaysia, para mahasiswa akan memperoleh akses langsung ke fasilitas laboratorium modern, berkolaborasi dengan peneliti setempat, serta terlibat dalam studi kasus mengenai pemanfaatan serat alam sebagai material komposit ramah lingkungan dan pengembangan energi terbarukan.

Kegiatan ini sekaligus menjadi wujud komitmen FT UNNES dalam memperkuat jejaring internasional dan mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (Sustainable Development Goals/SDGs).

Pelaksanaan Joint Research ini juga mendukung sejumlah tujuan SDGs, di antaranya SDG 4 (Pendidikan Berkualitas) melalui penyediaan akses terhadap pendidikan teknik berstandar internasional dan pengalaman riset global, SDG 7 (Energi Bersih dan Terjangkau) melalui penelitian di bidang energi terbarukan, serta SDG 12 (Konsumsi dan Produksi yang Bertanggung Jawab) melalui pengembangan material ramah lingkungan berbasis serat alam sebagai alternatif pengganti material sintetis yang sulit terurai.

Melalui program Joint Research ini, FT UNNES terus berkomitmen menghasilkan lulusan yang berwawasan global, adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi di tingkat nasional maupun internasional, serta siap memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan industri hijau. Diharapkan pengalaman riset internasional tersebut semakin memperkuat kompetensi mahasiswa sekaligus memperluas kolaborasi akademik yang mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan.
