In an effort to expand its academic network and strengthen inter-university educational collaboration, the Physics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Semarang State University (UNNES), conducted a working visit to the Physics Study Program, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) on November 12, 2025. The visit was led by Prof. Dr. Masturi, M.Sc., Coordinator of the Physics Study Program, FMIPA UNNES, accompanied by Dr. Sunarno, M.Sc., and Fifin Dewi Ratnasari, M.Sc., a member of the Physics Study Program’s MBKM Group. The group was warmly received by researchers from the FMIPA UNDIP Physics Laboratory, namely Dr. Eng. Udi Harmoko, S.Sc., M.Sc., and Dr. Irham Nurwidyanto, M.T.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere full of academic enthusiasm and collaboration. The main discussion focused on the successful implementation of the UNNES Physics Study Program student internship program at UNDIP, which has significantly contributed to research activities in the UNDIP Physics Department. The program was deemed successful in providing students with laboratory research experience, particularly in medical physics and medical materials. The event also discussed opportunities for continuing the internship program in future years, including the possibility of integrating the internship with the final project (thesis) and expanding the theme to other fields such as materials physics, instrumentation, energy, computing, and Earth science.

The Coordinator of the Physics Study Program, FMIPA UNNES, Prof. Dr. Masturi, M.Sc., expressed his high appreciation for the support and openness from the UNDIP Physics Department. “We view this collaboration as a concrete manifestation of our commitment to achieving quality education (SDG 4) and strengthening partnerships for common goals (SDG 17). Through collaborations like this, students not only learn theory, but also gain practical experience and research that is relevant to the challenges of the times,” he said. Prof. Masturi also emphasized that UNNES is committed to maintaining the sustainability of this relationship through strengthening internship schemes, joint research, and student capacity building activities in the future.
