Kuliah Tamu Psikologi FIPP UNNES, Jembatani Teori dan Realitas Perkembangan ABK

Program Studi Psikologi, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan dan Psikologi (FIPP) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menyelenggarakan kuliah tamu bertajuk “Learning from Life: The Art of Understanding the Development of Children with Special Needs” pada 17 April 2026.

Kegiatan ini menjadi bagian dari upaya penguatan kolaborasi antara akademisi dan praktisi, sejalan dengan tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan (SDGs) poin 4 tentang pendidikan berkualitas dan poin 17 tentang kemitraan.

Kuliah tamu yang berlangsung di Lantai 3 Aula Dekanat tersebut dibuka secara resmi oleh Ketua Program Studi Psikologi FIPP UNNES, Anna Undarwati, S.Psi., M.A., Ph.D.

Dalam sambutannya, ia menegaskan bahwa pemahaman terhadap Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) merupakan kompetensi penting bagi mahasiswa psikologi. Ia juga mengapresiasi sinergi panitia yang melibatkan Tim Dosen Psikologi Perkembangan bersama mahasiswa angkatan 2025.

Kegiatan ini menghadirkan narasumber praktisi, Dr. Diah Curie Kharisma, SKM, M.Kes., yang merupakan Analis Kebijakan Teknis dari Balai Pelatihan Kesehatan (Bapelkes) Provinsi Jawa Tengah.

Di hadapan sekitar 250 mahasiswa angkatan 2025, Dr. Diah memaparkan bahwa teori perkembangan yang dipelajari di kelas kerap menghadapi dinamika berbeda di lapangan.

Ia menekankan bahwa teori berperan sebagai peta, sementara kehidupan nyata merupakan medan yang sesungguhnya. Dalam konteks anak berkebutuhan khusus, perkembangan tidak selalu berjalan linear.

Terdapat kemungkinan terjadinya lompatan maupun stagnasi, sehingga diperlukan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam. Ia juga menyoroti bahwa usia mental anak tidak selalu sejalan dengan usia kronologis.

Dalam sesi pemaparan yang interaktif, mahasiswa diajak memahami keterkaitan aspek klinis dan psikososial melalui beberapa materi. Salah satunya adalah studi kasus Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS) yang menggambarkan dampak kondisi medis terhadap gangguan sensorik dan kognitif anak.

Selain itu, mahasiswa diperkenalkan pada paradigma baru yang berfokus pada potensi dan kekuatan individu melalui pendekatan strength-based approach. Pembahasan juga mencakup ketahanan keluarga, khususnya fenomena parenting stress, serta peran psikolog sebagai pendamping bagi orang tua sebagai mitra utama dalam proses terapi anak.

Keberhasilan kegiatan ini turut mencerminkan sinergi internal di lingkungan Program Studi Psikologi FIPP UNNES. Kolaborasi antara pengalaman dosen dan kreativitas mahasiswa angkatan 2025 menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang kondusif dan inspiratif.

Perwakilan panitia menyampaikan bahwa keterlibatan mahasiswa dalam kepanitiaan bertujuan untuk mengasah kemampuan manajerial sekaligus memperdalam pemahaman materi perkuliahan Psikologi Perkembangan.

Kegiatan ditutup dengan sesi tanya jawab yang berlangsung dinamis. Mahasiswa aktif mengangkat berbagai pertanyaan kritis terkait tantangan yang akan dihadapi calon psikolog dalam memahami keberagaman perkembangan manusia di masa mendatang.
