The Quality Assurance Office (QAO) of Universitas Negeri Semarang held an event titled “Preparation for the AQAS In-Person Site Visit.

The event was conducted offline at the Borobudur Room, 3rd Floor, UNNES LPPM Building.

It was opened by the Head of the UNNES Quality Assurance Office, Prof. Dr. Rudi Hartono, M.Pd, with Rifa’atunnisa, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D. serving as the moderator and Dr. Erna Dyah Kusumawati, S.H., M.Hum., LL.M. as the resource person. The event was attended by lecturers and FIPP officials from within UNNES.

The event focused on preparations regarding the standards outlined by AQAS concerning the teaching and learning processes that support academic coursework. In this context, UNNES must inventory all facilities that support student learning, such as libraries, classrooms, and laboratories, to ensure they meet eligibility standards.

Accessibility for individuals with disabilities was also a key topic. The campus must reflect a disability-friendly environment through the provision of dedicated pathways, restrooms, and other supporting facilities, thereby demonstrating an inclusive campus atmosphere.

Another equally important topic was the need for UNNES to showcase conference rooms that can serve as samples for the site visit. These sample rooms allow for an assessment of the effectiveness of building maintenance and usage.

“Are there spare rooms (at UNNES) that can be utilized when the lecture schedule is fully booked?” This question emphasized the need for spaces that can help mitigate classroom availability issues.

Supporting facilities for the learning process are a crucial element of the preparation. The adequacy of computer labs relative to the student population is frequently queried during site visits. Laboratories must be specialized rather than generic in nature. UNNES must also prepare video materials for the virtual component of the site visit.

“This relates to access to reference materials, as well as the amount of journals and articles available to students.”

“I hope the accreditation site visit proceeds smoothly. Let us collaborate and synergize to prepare meticulously, starting with the creation of an optimistic timeline for this international accreditation process.”
