Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has once again demonstrated its commitment as a conservation-oriented university by successfully completing the submission of UI GreenMetric 2026 data on Monday, July 13, 2026. The activity represents an important step in strengthening sustainable campus implementation at both national and international levels.
The data submission process involved various university units that contributed information related to environmental management, energy efficiency, waste management, sustainable transportation, water conservation, and education and research activities supporting sustainability goals.
The Rector of UNNES and university leaders directly supported the Subdirectorate of Conservation during the finalization and submission process. Their involvement reflects the institution’s commitment to integrating sustainability principles into overall campus governance.
The Head of the UNNES Subdirectorate of Conservation, Prof. Dr. Nana Kariada Tri Martuti, M.Si., explained that participation in UI GreenMetric goes beyond ranking achievements. “UI GreenMetric serves as a valuable instrument to measure and strengthen UNNES’s commitment to implementing sustainable development principles through conservation programs and environmental management initiatives across the campus,” she stated.
Through this process, UNNES continues to strengthen various sustainability aspects, including green open space development, energy efficiency, circular waste management, and environmental education for the academic community. These efforts align with the university’s vision as a conservation-based institution focused on sustainability and societal impact.
Active participation in UI GreenMetric also reflects UNNES’s contribution to the global sustainability agenda. By continuously improving environmentally friendly campus management practices, UNNES aims to serve as a model of best practices for higher education institutions in Indonesia and beyond.
This activity supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
