One of the targets of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) in Nawatarget in 2019 is a patent for 30 titles. Meanwhile, the number of patents (granted) owned by UNNES for the time being is only 10 patents.
This is the background of the holding of the Patent Description Preparation Workshop on Monday to Tuesday (15-16 / 4) at the UNNES Research and Community Service Institution Building (LP2M).
The policy breakthrough was carried out by researchers originating from various research and community service activities with DRPM and DIPA funding sources . However, most of these innovations have not been made to obtain patents.
There are several factors that can cause this, including the lack of understanding of patents, patent registration procedures, limited time and costs, and the busyness of lecturers.
To overcome this problem, special policies need to be carried out among others by implementing the Program to Facilitate the Acquisition of Patent Rights. In this program, the inventors will be accompanied starting from registration of patent description, filing of patent documents, assistance in registration costs, sub-examination to obtain a patent certificate (granted).
The activity supported by 50 (fifty) inventions from the UNNES lecturers involved 12 experts from the KI LP2M UNNES Center and 4 experts from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI), Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.
The expected program, facilitation approved by the patent, can be carried out routinely so that it can boost UNNES patent licenses. This acquisition is one of the steps of UNNES in realizing Nawatarget in 2019 and contributing to future scientific development.
