Universitas Negeri Semarang > Faculty of Engineering > Fakultas Teknik-eng > EneRC FT UNNES PPK ORMAWA Innovation for Community Empowerment

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held the Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) Expo on the first floor of the UNNES Rectorate building in Semarang City on Monday (August 31, 2026). This event served as a platform for students to showcase the progress of their innovation implementations and the impact of community empowerment programs carried out in partner villages and urban communities.

Beyond merely showcasing program results, the event was positioned as a “pre-Abdidaya” session, allowing students to present their implementation outcomes and evaluate shortcomings before participating in the actual Abdidaya stage.

UNNES Rector Prof. Dr. S. Martono, M.Si., emphasized the need for students to continue developing innovations that benefit the community while maintaining environmental awareness.

“We congratulate the PPK Ormawa teams and view this event positively, particularly regarding how students demonstrate care for the environment and the community while creating an impact, including in economic terms,” said the UNNES Rector.

He added that students should remain enthusiastic about enhancing the implementation of innovations that benefit society while upholding environmental stewardship.

The PPK Ormawa Expo was part of the internal Progress Assessment (PKP) series for the program. UNNES leadership, faculty heads, and lecturers attended the event to witness firsthand the progress and impact of the programs executed by students in collaboration with the community.

The internal assessment was conducted objectively to serve as both an evaluation and a preparatory step for the Belmawa (Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs) assessment. Through this process, students received feedback to improve program quality and prepare for the Abdidaya stage.

Each PPK Ormawa team continues to provide guidance to the community through the program’s final stage; consequently, the implemented innovations and resulting programs are expected to evolve further and deliver sustainable benefits to both the community and the environment.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNNES, Prof. Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T., expressed his appreciation to the EneRC FT UNNES PPK Ormawa team for introducing innovations aimed at community empowerment in Kandri Village. He will also continue to provide support and guidance throughout the implementation of this community service initiative. This is particularly relevant given that the innovation aligns with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure)—areas where the UNNES Faculty of Engineering is tasked with improving performance and outcomes.
