FMIPA UNNES, Overall Champion in ARUBALYMPICS 2020 FMIPA UNNES

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA)’team Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has just been crowned as the overall champion and the most gold medals contributor in Central Java in the ARUBALYMPICS 2020 event which was held on August 3rd – 17th 2020.

ARUBALYMPICS is a collective initiative initiated by Aruba, Aptikom, and Ekoji Academy as part of a link-and-match program between universities and the industrial world based on e-learning and e-competition.

ARUBALYMPICS activities are packaged in the form of virtual learning sessions (asynchronous e-learning) which are held for 9 (nine) consecutive days with detailed topics namely The New Campus Wireless Standard Wifi 6, Next Generation IT Experience with CX Switch, Remote Teaching and Learning Solution, Network First Line Defense of Cyber ​​Threat, Beware with Invisible Devices in Your Network, Simple but Secure Network Security, Switch Technology Analytics with Artificial Intelligence, Academia Experience Insight, and Artificial Intelligence in Future Wireless Network.

Six delegates who made brilliant achievements in this event came from the Computer Science Department consisting of two lecturers, namely Dr. Alamsyah and Subhan SPd Mkom MPd and four students namely Diyah Ayu Fitriana, Khoirinisa Umi Rahmawati, Rizka Nur Pratama, and Muhammad Fadil Mardiansyah.

The team from FMIPA UNNES managed to donate a total of 25 medals for Central Java with the acquisition of 15 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. Dr. Alamsyah as the head of the delegation team said that the key to winning this competition was good cooperation between lecturers and students and maximum support from the campus in the 2020 ARUBALYMPICS activities.

ARUBALYMPICS 2020 was attended by 350 universities spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia. The tertiary institution that received the most certificates of appreciation received a special award in the form of the Arubalympics Campus of the Year Award issued by Aruba International which is endorsed by various informatics associations in Indonesia.
