Semarang – Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menerima kunjungan akademik dari School of Geography, South China Normal University (SCNU), Tiongkok, dalam kegiatan bertajuk Academic Visit and Research Exchange yang berlangsung pada Jumat, 17 Juli 2026 pukul 13.30 WIB hingga selesai, di Ruang 301 Gedung C1 Lantai 3 FISIP UNNES. Pertemuan ini menjadi momentum penting untuk memperkuat kerja sama internasional di bidang pendidikan, penelitian, dan mobilitas akademik antara kedua institusi.

Delegasi FISIP UNNES dipimpin oleh Wakil Dekan Bidang Akademik, Kemahasiswaan, dan Alumni, Dr.scient.med. Fadly Husain, M.Si., serta Wakil Dekan Bidang Perencanaan, Keuangan, dan Umum, Dr.sos. Puji Lestari, M.Si. Turut hadir Koordinator Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Geografi, S1 Geografi, S2 Pendidikan Geografi, dan S3 Pendidikan IPS, Kepala Laboratorium Terpadu, Ketua dan Anggota Gugus World Class University (WCU), Mobility dan Kerja Sama, Ketua dan Anggota Gugus Humas, serta sejumlah dosen, di antaranya Prof. Dr. Juhadi, M.Si., Dr. Wahyu Setyaningsih, S.T., M.T., Dr. Ariyani Indrayati, S.Si., M.Sc., Dr. Hariyanto, M.Si., dan Elok Surya Pratiwi, S.Si., M.Sc.

Sementara itu, delegasi dari School of Geography, South China Normal University dipimpin langsung oleh Prof. Liu Yungang, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Geography, bersama lima anggota tim risetnya.

Kegiatan diawali dengan pemaparan profil FISIP UNNES serta pengenalan Program Studi Geografi dan Pendidikan Geografi sebagai bagian dari upaya memperkenalkan kapasitas akademik, riset, dan jejaring internasional yang dimiliki fakultas. Delegasi SCNU kemudian memperkenalkan School of Geography beserta berbagai program unggulan dan arah pengembangan riset yang tengah dikembangkan di universitas tersebut.

Pertemuan berlangsung dalam suasana hangat dan produktif melalui diskusi mengenai berbagai peluang kerja sama internasional. Salah satu agenda utama adalah pembahasan rencana International Student Mobility, yang mencakup pertukaran mahasiswa, penguatan pengalaman belajar lintas negara, serta pengembangan riset kolaboratif antara dosen dan peneliti dari kedua universitas. Kedua belah pihak juga bertukar gagasan mengenai potensi penelitian bersama di bidang geografi, lingkungan, pembangunan wilayah, dan isu-isu sosial yang menjadi perhatian global.

Sebagai bagian dari rangkaian kegiatan, delegasi SCNU juga mengunjungi Laboratorium Geografi FISIP UNNES untuk melihat secara langsung fasilitas pembelajaran dan penelitian yang dimiliki. Kunjungan ini memberikan gambaran mengenai kesiapan FISIP UNNES dalam mendukung pelaksanaan riset bersama, pengembangan inovasi akademik, serta implementasi berbagai program kolaborasi internasional di masa mendatang.

Prof. Liu Yungang, Ph.D., menyampaikan apresiasi atas sambutan yang diberikan FISIP UNNES sekaligus mengungkapkan optimismenya terhadap peluang kerja sama kedua institusi.

“We are deeply impressed by the warm hospitality extended by FISIP UNNES. The faculty has developed very progressively, and we see many opportunities for future collaboration, particularly in student exchange programs and joint research. We are especially interested in conducting geographical research in Indonesia, particularly on the island of Java,” ujarnya.

Wakil Dekan FISIP UNNES menyampaikan bahwa kunjungan ini menjadi langkah strategis dalam memperluas jejaring internasional fakultas sekaligus membuka kesempatan yang lebih luas bagi mahasiswa dan dosen untuk terlibat dalam kegiatan akademik berskala global. Melalui kolaborasi ini, diharapkan lahir berbagai program bersama yang mampu meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan, publikasi ilmiah, serta inovasi penelitian yang memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat internasional.

Kegiatan Academic Visit and Research Exchange ini sejalan dengan komitmen Universitas Negeri Semarang dalam mendukung pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya SDG 4 (Quality Education) melalui penguatan pendidikan tinggi berkualitas dan internasionalisasi akademik, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) melalui pengembangan riset dan inovasi kolaboratif, serta SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) melalui penguatan kemitraan strategis antarperguruan tinggi lintas negara. Kolaborasi antara FISIP UNNES dan School of Geography South China Normal University diharapkan menjadi fondasi bagi kerja sama jangka panjang yang mampu menghasilkan kontribusi nyata bagi pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia, dan penyelesaian berbagai tantangan global melalui penelitian dan pendidikan yang berkelanjutan.
