The Prigel Internship Program for UNNES Undergraduate Non-Formal Education Students once again demonstrated its contribution in supporting competency-based training activities at the Semarang City Vocational Training Center (BLK). In this program, interns served as assistant instructors in a series of DBHCHT (Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund) training programs, held from April 24, 2026, to May 19, 2026.
The DBHCHT training was held at two locations: the BLK in Gayamsari District and the BLK in Mijen District. The training included culinary arts training, optimizing social media for marketing, and batik-making training. This program was designed to help DBHCHT participants develop skills relevant to the needs of the workplace and business opportunities (entrepreneurship).
Throughout the training, interns assisted instructors in the learning process, assisted with the smooth running of the practice sessions, and encouraged participants to actively participate in each session. The presence of UNNES PNF students as interns is not only part of the field learning process but also contributes to supporting community empowerment programs.
The empowerment program includes: providing motivation for participants to work, fostering self-confidence, tenacity, and resilience in facing the risks of entrepreneurship, and improving vocational skills and productivity, including culinary skills, batik making, and digital product marketing.
The DBHCHT training program equips participants with new skills (upskilling) that can be directly applied in their daily lives and as a foundation for increasing economic independence. Furthermore, the skills acquired are also expected to open business opportunities for participants to start their own businesses, enabling them to achieve economic independence and sustainability in the future.
The involvement of UNNES PNF students in this vocational skills and entrepreneurship training activity also represents a tangible contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1, which focuses on poverty alleviation through improved work skills, and supports the realization of SDG 8, which focuses on improving competencies for obtaining decent work and driving economic growth.
