Academic Mission of the Study Program

  1. To provide counselor professional education based on a strength-based paradigm and oriented toward values and character.
  2. To develop professional practices and produce excellent products to enhance the professionalism of guidance and counseling services.
  3. To conduct research and knowledge development to produce inspirational scholarly works based on a strength-based paradigm and oriented toward values and character in the field of counselor professional education.
  4. To carry out community service through counseling practices in schools and communities.
  5. To establish partnerships at both national and international levels.

Objectives of the Study Program

The Counselor Professional Education Program aims to produce professional counselors through the development and mastery of professional competencies following the completion of a Bachelor of Education degree in Guidance and Counseling, followed by professional counselor education. Overall, the program is designed to produce graduates who possess the competencies required to provide independent, outstanding, strength-based, and values- and character-oriented expert guidance and counseling services in formal and non-formal education settings, as well as in private practice.

Brief Profile

The Counselor Professional Education Program (PPK) prepares professional counselors who are qualified to provide guidance and counseling services in various settings, including schools and higher education institutions, families, government and private institutions, business and industry, as well as social and community organizations, in both formal and non-formal contexts.

More specifically, the Counselor Professional Education Program (PPK) provides graduates holding a Bachelor of Education degree (S.Pd./S.Pd.I) in Guidance and Counseling with opportunities to:

  • Gain supervised practical experience equivalent to professional counseling standards, totaling 600 actual hours.
  • Earn the professional degree of Counselor (Kons.).
  • Fulfill the basic requirements for establishing a private counseling practice.
  • Provide guidance and counseling services within the community.
