Semarang, June 25, 2026 – The Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Undergraduate Program at Semarang State University (UNNES) hosted a benchmarking visit from the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Undergraduate Program at Surabaya State University (UNESA) on Thursday (June 25, 2026). This visit aimed to strengthen academic collaboration and share best practices in program management, particularly in the development of learning and student affairs.
The benchmarking session began with remarks from the Deputy Dean I for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Education, UNNES, Farid Ahmadi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of synergy between universities in improving the quality of education, especially in facing global challenges.
Following this, remarks were delivered by the Coordinator of the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at UNESA, Dr. Putri Rachmadyanti, S.Pd., M.Pd., emphasized the importance of establishing strategic collaboration between study programs, particularly in the student mobility program. According to her, student mobility is a concrete step in broadening academic horizons, improving global competencies, and enriching students’ learning experiences.
The next remarks were delivered by the Coordinator of the Elementary School Teacher Education Undergraduate Program at UNNES, Drs. Sigit Yulianto, M.Pd., who welcomed the proposed collaboration. He stated that the student mobility program represents a significant opportunity to improve the quality of graduates through the exchange of learning experiences, strengthening academic networks, and developing cross-cultural competencies.
This benchmarking activity not only serves as a forum for discussion and information exchange, but also represents a concrete step in strengthening the implementation of cooperation between universities. The collaboration is expected to continuously improve the quality of elementary school teacher education.
Furthermore, this activity aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), which emphasizes the importance of quality and inclusive education, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which encourages strategic partnerships between institutions to achieve sustainable development goals. Through collaborations such as student mobility, both institutions are committed to jointly improving the quality of education and expanding their positive impact on society.
This benchmarking activity is expected to strengthen the relationship between the PGSD UNNES and PGSD UNESA, resulting in the development of various educational innovations.
