Semarang, July 8, 2026 – The Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) held a Faculty Plenary Meeting, combined with a Graduation Ceremony for lecturers and educational staff, in the FIPP Dean’s Hall on Wednesday (July 8). This event served as a strategic communication forum to convey the latest developments in the faculty and to honor the academic community who have completed their service.
Plenary meetings are a routine agenda held as a means of conveying information, evaluating, and strengthening coordination between faculty leaders and all lecturers and educational staff. Through this forum, the entire academic community received information on various strategic programs currently being implemented by FIPP to support the improvement of the quality of education, governance, and academic services.

In his remarks, the Dean of FIPP UNNES, Prof. Edy Purwanto, presented various strategic developments underway within the faculty, including the construction of a new eight-story building, which is expected to increase the capacity of learning, research, and academic service facilities and infrastructure. This development is part of FIPP’s efforts to provide a modern, comfortable learning environment that supports the improvement of educational quality.
On the same occasion, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs presented various developments related to academic administration and the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI), which are the focus of improving educational quality at FIPP. Furthermore, the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance presented progress on the implementation of the Integrity Zone and the strengthening of the Smoke-Free Area as part of the faculty’s commitment to achieving good governance, a clean, and healthy campus environment.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Business, Research, and Cooperation encouraged all lecturers to continue increasing the productivity of scientific publications through the “One Lecturer, One Scopus” initiative. This initiative is expected to strengthen the research culture and enhance FIPP’s academic reputation nationally and internationally.

Following the plenary session, the event continued with a farewell ceremony, a tribute to the lecturers and educational staff who have dedicated their time to the advancement of FIPP UNNES. The atmosphere was warm and emotional as the representative of the retired faculty, Prof. Fakhruddin, delivered remarks expressing gratitude and reflection on their service to FIPP.
The tribute was further touched by a poetry reading by Dr. Heru Mugiarso, who captured the meaning of dedication, devotion, and togetherness in building the world of education. A familial atmosphere concluded the event before the Dean of FIPP, Prof. Edy Purwanto, delivered a message of appreciation to the retired faculty for their contributions, exemplary conduct, and dedication during their time at FIPP UNNES.
Through this event, FIPP UNNES affirmed its commitment to continuously strengthening organizational communication, improving the quality of faculty governance, and building a collaborative academic culture. Furthermore, the farewell ceremony honored the dedication of the academic community, who have made significant contributions to the development of FIPP and the world of Indonesian education.
