SEMARANG – The Faculty of Law at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has once again proven its existence in the global education arena. On April 15, 2026, the Faculty of Law UNNES proudly and successfully hosted the Global Law Indonesia (GLI) Intensive Short Program 2026. Remarkably, this international-level academic program was attended by participants from 27 different countries.
For this year’s implementation, GLI adopted the central theme “Understanding Legal Diversity and Living Law in the World’s Largest Archipelago”. Through this theme, the Faculty of Law UNNES invited international students to dive deeper into the dynamics, legal diversity, and the living law that thrives within the society of the Indonesian archipelago.
This prestigious event is a tangible manifestation of the Faculty of Law UNNES’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration and broadening global legal insights within the academic realm. Furthermore, the program is designed to encourage knowledge exchange, cross-cultural understanding, and provide a concrete contribution to the development of globally competitive legal science.
This progressive step by the Faculty of Law UNNES aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The presence of delegates from 27 countries is a concrete manifestation of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Simultaneously, this cross-border exchange of legal insights directly supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) to produce legal professionals with a universal perspective.
