The accreditation was formalized in Decree Number 278/SK/LAMDIK/Ak/S/II/2026 issued by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Education (LAMDIK) on February 28, 2026. The “Unggul” status is valid for five years, lasting until February 27, 2031.

The “Unggul” predicate was awarded following a comprehensive assessment process, which evaluated the curriculum, faculty quality, program governance, facilities and infrastructure, output of the university’s tri-dharma (education, research, and community service), as well as student and alumni achievements. This result signifies that the Fine Arts Education Program not only meets national higher education standards but also exceeds the established quality indicators.

This success is the result of collaboration among the entire academic community, including faculty members, educational staff, students, as well as the support from the faculty and university.

Plh. Dekan FBS UNNES, Prof. Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T., IPM., expressed his pride in the achievement. “This ‘Unggul’ accreditation is a proud milestone for the Faculty of Languages and Arts. It reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone within the Fine Arts Education Study Program. We hope this accomplishment will further strengthen UNNES’s position in producing qualified and competitive graduates in the field of arts education,” he stated.

The Head of the Fine Arts Education Study Program, Dr. Ratih Ayu Pratiwinindya, S.Pd., M.Pd., also shared her thoughts on the recognition. “We are immensely grateful for this achievement. This ‘Unggul’ status is not an endpoint, but a motivation for us to continue innovating in learning, research, and community service. It is our commitment to consistently provide quality education and produce graduates who can contribute significantly to both the educational and creative sectors,” she explained.

This achievement is expected to further solidify the Fine Arts Education Study Program’s position as a reference for arts education in Indonesia. Beyond increasing public trust, this predicate serves as motivation to continuously innovate in teaching, research, and community engagement.

On a broader scale, attaining the “Unggul” accreditation aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through its commitment to providing a high-quality and competitive higher education system. Furthermore, this achievement supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by preparing competent graduates ready to contribute to the education and creative industries. The continuous quality improvement efforts also reflect support for SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through synergy between the study program, faculty, university, and various stakeholders.

With this achievement, the Fine Arts Education Study Program at FBS UNNES is expected to maintain its academic quality while expanding its contribution to the development of arts, education, and culture at both national and international levels.
