The Department of Drama, Dance, and Music Education (Sendratasik) at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), recently conducted a promotional tour at several senior high schools in Rembang Regency. The events took place at SMAN 2 Rembang on January 28, 2026, and continued at SMAN 1 Lasem on January 29, 2026.

The promotional team comprised faculty members from both study programs within the department. Representing the Dance Education Study Program were Dr. Eny Kusumastuti, M.Pd., and Rimasari Pramesti Putri, S.Pd., M.Pd. Joining them from the Music Education Study Program were Dr. Abdul Rachman, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Nafik Salafiyah, S.Pd., M.Sn. The team also included students Aisya Melani Putri and Iklas Adi Pangestu, as well as public relations representative Adhelia Puteri Maharani, S.Pd.

The delegation was warmly received by the principals of both schools, Endang Sri Lestari, M.Pd., of SMAN 2 Rembang and Juhartutik, S.Pd., M.Pd., of SMAN 1 Lasem. The school leaders expressed their appreciation for the visit and the valuable information provided to their students regarding higher education opportunities in the arts.

During the sessions, the team presented an overview of the Sendratasik Department, detailed the student admission process, and highlighted the unique advantages of its programs. The presentation covered academic activities, hands-on arts practice, and the diverse career prospects for graduates, both in education and the broader creative industry. Students engaged actively in the interactive presentation and discussion sessions that followed.

This initiative aims to broaden students’ understanding of academic paths in the arts and to encourage their interest in pursuing higher education at the Sendratasik Department, FBS UNNES.

The promotional activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education, by expanding equitable access to information about higher education for high school students. Furthermore, it supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by introducing young people to career pathways within the arts and creative economy. The collaboration between the university and high schools also reinforces the principles of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
