Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to strengthen the quality of academic learning and research by subscribing to a range of reputable international journals. This initiative provides broader access to global scholarly references for students of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) UNNES, supporting learning activities, research, and academic writing.

Through this subscription, FBS students are encouraged to use up-to-date, credible international sources for coursework, undergraduate theses, and scientific research, thereby enhancing academic rigor and research-based learning.

Vice Dean III of FBS UNNES for Research, Innovation, and Information Systems, Mohamad Yusuf Ahmad Hasyim, Lc., M.A., Ph.D., stated that the availability of international journals is a strategic step to support the university’s key performance indicators.

“This international journal subscription directly supports Key Performance Indicator (IKU) 5, which focuses on internationally recognized academic outputs by students and lecturers, as well as IKU 6, related to study programs collaborating with world-class partners. Access to global scholarly references is fundamental to improving research quality and international publications,” he explained.

From the perspective of World Class University (WCU) development, he added that access to international journals contributes to increasing the quality and quantity of reputable publications, strengthening a research-driven academic culture, and enhancing the global competitiveness of FBS students and academic staff.

In addition, the program aligns with UNNES’ commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through equitable access to knowledge, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by supporting research and academic innovation.

The subscribed international journals can be accessed both on campus and off campus. On-campus access is available through the UNNES internal network, while off-campus access can be obtained via the UNNES Library Single Sign-On (SSO) system.

Students who wish to access the journals from outside campus are required to activate their SSO account through the following link: 👉 https://bit.ly/SSOlibUNNES

Through this initiative, UNNES expects FBS students to become more adaptive to global academic developments and capable of producing high-quality scholarly works with international competitiveness.
