Semarang, January 14, 2026 — Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to strengthen its international research and publication culture. One of these efforts was carried out through the Socialization of Research and Community Service Guidelines organized by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNNES at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS).

The activity served as a forum for FBS lecturers to gain a clearer understanding of research and community service policies that not only fulfill the university’s Tridharma obligations, but also contribute directly to the achievement of Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (KPIs/IKU), the strengthening of UNNES’s global reputation, and the One Lecturer One Scopus program.

One of the speakers, Prof. Dr. Widya Hary Cahyati, S.KM., M.Kes., emphasized that current research and community service activities must be designed strategically from the planning stage.

“High-quality research must have clear and measurable outputs, ranging from reputable international publications to intellectual property rights. This is where research and community service play a crucial role in supporting the IKU and the One Lecturer One Scopus program,” she explained.

A similar view was expressed by Prof. Dr. Sucihatiningsih Dian Wisika Prajanti, M.Si., who noted that the guidelines presented have been tailored to support lecturers in producing internationally competitive outputs.

“These guidelines provide more practical direction so that research and community service activities can lead to Scopus-indexed publications, international collaboration, and community service with tangible social impact,” she said.

Vice Dean III of FBS for Research, Innovation, and Information Systems, Mohamad Yusuf Ahmad Hasyim, Lc., M.A., Ph.D., described the activity as highly relevant to strengthening the research ecosystem at FBS.

“This socialization helps lecturers understand the direct connection between research, innovation, and information systems and the university’s KPI targets. We want research at FBS to be not only productive, but also measurable and contributive to UNNES’s international reputation,” he stated.

He added that FBS continues to encourage lecturers to actively use research and community service as pathways toward Scopus publications, as well as the development of innovations rooted in language, arts, and culture.

“This is part of FBS’s concrete commitment to supporting UNNES’s journey toward becoming a World Class University through strong, innovative, and globally relevant research,” he added.

Through this activity, FBS UNNES lecturers are expected to be better prepared to develop high-quality, applicable, and internationally oriented research and community service, thereby contributing directly to the achievement of Higher Education KPIs (IKU), the One Lecturer One Scopus program, and UNNES’s global vision.
