878 students from the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) participated in the international Google Cloud Computing Foundation certification program. This strategic initiative was a collaboration between UNNES and the Google International Office. The program ran from May 1 to June 30, 2025, and included students from various study programs within FBS.
Throughout the two-month implementation period, participants enthusiastically completed eight main modules designed to introduce and strengthen their understanding of Google Cloud-based cloud computing. These modules included: Cloud Computing Fundamentals, Infrastructure in Google Cloud, Networking & Security in Google Cloud, Data, ML, and AI in Google Cloud, Implement Load Balancing on Compute Engine, Set Up an App Dev Environment on Google Cloud, Build a Secure Google Cloud Network, and Prepare Data for ML APIs on Google Cloud.
Through this program, students gained practical understanding of modern digital infrastructure. Every participant who completed the training received an official certificate from Google, which is internationally recognized and serves as proof of expertise in utilizing cloud technology for modern industry needs.
The Dean of FBS UNNES, Prof. Dr. Tommi Yuniawan, M. Hum., stated that this collaboration is part of the faculty’s strategic step to equip students with relevant technological skills in the digital era. “I deeply appreciate the extraordinary enthusiasm of the students in participating in this program. This shows their readiness to adapt to global technological changes,” he said.
Beyond just technical training, this program also supports the achievement of Key Performance Indicator (IKU) 2, which focuses on providing students with off-campus experiences. By participating in certification from global industry partners like Google, students not only broaden their technical insights but also enhance their job readiness and competitiveness in the global market.
