The Faculty of Language and Arts of Universitas Negeri Semarang (FBS UNNES) held a Halalbihalal event to honor the retirement of lecturers Dra. Esti Sudi Utami Benedicta, M.Pd (a lecturer in Javanese Language and Literature Education) and Drs. Bintang Hanggoro Putra, M.Hum. (a lecturer in Dance Education), on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in Ruang Bundar Dekanat FBS UNNES.
In his remarks, the Vice Dean of Business, Research, and Partnership, Mohamad Yusuf Ahmad Hasyim, Lc., M.A., Ph.D. expressed his gratitude to all the lecturers present for strengthening the bonds of camaraderie between lecturers, as well as acknowledging the event as a touching moment for two lecturers who significantly contributed to the faculty. “Retirement is not a moment of farewell because their spirit and exemplary conduct will continue to live on and shape the journey of FBS,” he stated.
Another memorable event is the tribute to the lecturers entering retirement. Prof. Dr. RM. Teguh Supriyanto, M.Hum., a lecturer from the Javanese Literature Study Program, shared his impressions of Ibu Esti Sudi Utami, reminisced about Ibu Esti’s contributions, noting that she had provided many lessons and inspirations, even though she could not be present in person.
Meanwhile, Dra. Eny Kusumastuti, M.Pd., Dance Arts Study Program Coordinator, shared her impressions of Pak Bintang. “Pak Bintang is a dance legend. He shines like his name. For 38 years on the UNNES stage, not only did his body dance but also his thoughts. He arrived when letters were still typed on typewriters and retired in an era when students dance for Instagram Reels and TikTok,” she said, which was met with laughter from the attendees.
The Dean of FBS UNNES, Prof. Dr. Tommi Yuniawan, expressed his gratitude for Ibu Esti and Pak Bintang’s dedication during their decades of service at FBS UNNES. Some of their former students, who have become lecturers on campus, prove that the knowledge they imparted will continue to be transformed.
The event also included a halalbihalal activity with a sermon delivered by Dr. Moh Muttaqin, a lecturer in Music Arts Education. Lecturers and administrative staff attended. (Ika Rizki Refima Putri/Student Staff Humas)
