Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), through the Dharma Wanita Persatuan UNNES (DWP UNNES), regularly organizes the Women’s Mentoring program for female students and staff. This program aims to enhance participants’ academic, career, and social skills through continuous mentoring sessions.
Each semester, DWP UNNES conducts four mentoring sessions, each lasting 60–90 minutes, on weekdays. Approximately 70 participants attend each session, including female students and staff, following a cohort system so that participants complete the entire series of sessions. The sessions are held in the Borobudur Room at LPPM UNNES or the UNNES Auditorium, depending on the number of participants.
Topics covered include career development, time management, digital literacy, strengthening soft skills such as public speaking and negotiation, and boosting self-confidence. Sessions are guided by senior lecturers and professional mentors from various faculties, using interactive methods including group discussions, light role play, Q&A, and short mentoring exercises.
The program also features monitoring and evaluation, including attendance tracking, participant feedback for each session, and certificates for those who complete the full series. Materials and session recordings are available on YouTube UNNES TV, allowing participants who cannot attend in person to follow the program online.
Through this initiative, DWP UNNES ensures that women within the university receive ongoing support to develop their potential, expand their professional networks, and enhance their chances of academic and career success. Documentation, including photos, reports, and participant lists, is maintained to ensure transparency and continuous evaluation, serving as a reference for future program improvements.
