As a university that has a vision of an internationally reputed conservation-minded university, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) continues to equip its students with work experience or internship abroad. Through cooperation established with the Seri Costa Malaka Malaysia Hotel, UNNES sent 5 students from the Faculty of Agriculture Study Program to take part in an international internship program for a month in Malaka. They are Annisa Kurniasih, Nurul ini Aini, Hannifah Rizky, Batin Mahardeka Aditia, and Fauziah Nurul Indah. The five students were officially released by the Head of the International Office of UNNES, Intan Permata Hapsari, representing the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Cooperation at the UNNES Rectorate Building, Monday, 20/5.
Intan said that the overseas internship program initiated by UNNES through International Office would provide benefits to the education students had taken through credit courses.
“Through overseas internship experience, students can learn new skills and work practices and be able to get to know the culture and habits of local communities,” he added.
The Deputy Dean of Student Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering, Dr Wirawan Sumbodo, also emphasized that by participating in this international internship program, students of the Catering Study Program can get many opportunities, experiences, and knowledge about the world of hospitality.
“The experience and knowledge they obtain can be a provision to face the challenges ahead so that students are expected to get provision for the real world of work.
