2.758 Mahasiswa UNNES Siap Bergerak Membawa Dampak bagi Masyarakat melalui GIAT 17

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) secara resmi melepas sebanyak 2.758 mahasiswa untuk mengikuti program UNNES GIAT 17. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut menjadi wujud komitmen UNNES dalam menghadirkan kontribusi nyata dan solusi terhadap berbagai persoalan di tengah masyarakat.

Mahasiswa peserta UNNES GIAT 17 akan diterjunkan ke sejumlah wilayah, meliputi Kabupaten Semarang, Kota Semarang, Kabupaten Boyolali, Kabupaten Kendal, Kabupaten Magelang, Kota Salatiga, Kabupaten Klaten, dan Kabupaten Pati.

Ketua Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) UNNES, Prof. Dr. R. Benny Riyanto, S.H., M.Hum., CN., dalam laporannya menyampaikan bahwa keterlibatan ribuan mahasiswa tersebut merupakan kontribusi luar biasa UNNES dalam menjalankan peran perguruan tinggi di tengah masyarakat.

UNNES GIAT 17 mengusung sejumlah fokus program, di antaranya Ketahanan Pangan dan Lingkungan Sehat, Ekonomi Kreatif, Pendampingan Sertifikasi Tanah Wakaf, serta Koperasi Desa Merah Putih. Berbagai tema tersebut dirancang sebagai bagian dari upaya mewujudkan semangat UNNES untuk terus “Bergerak, Berdampak.”

“GIAT 17 diharapkan mampu menguatkan peran dan eksistensi UNNES sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang peduli, solutif, dan hadir secara nyata dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat,” ujarnya.

Sementara itu, Rektor UNNES yang diwakili Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan, Prof. Dr. Zaenuri, M.Si., Akt., menekankan pentingnya aspek keselamatan selama mahasiswa menjalankan seluruh rangkaian kegiatan di lokasi pengabdian.

Ia berharap kehadiran mahasiswa UNNES melalui GIAT 17 tidak hanya memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat dalam satu aspek, tetapi mampu menghadirkan dampak yang berkelanjutan secara ekonomi, sosial, maupun lingkungan.

Prof. Zaenuri juga mengingatkan seluruh peserta untuk menjaga sikap dan menjunjung tinggi norma-norma sosial yang berlaku di desa atau wilayah mitra. Mahasiswa diharapkan mampu beradaptasi, menghormati budaya setempat, serta membangun komunikasi yang baik dengan masyarakat.

Prosesi pelepasan UNNES GIAT 17 ditandai dengan pemasangan topi GIAT secara simbolis kepada perwakilan mahasiswa oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan bersama Ketua LPPM UNNES.

Melalui UNNES GIAT 17, ribuan mahasiswa diharapkan tidak hanya memperoleh pengalaman belajar di tengah masyarakat, tetapi juga menjadi agen perubahan yang mampu menghadirkan gagasan, solusi, dan dampak positif bagi pembangunan masyarakat. Semangat Bergerak, Berdampak pun diharapkan terus diwujudkan melalui kerja nyata mahasiswa UNNES di berbagai daerah mitra.
