Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) Prof Dr S Martono MSi mengatakan UNNES tidak ingin salah langkah dalam menjalankan status Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Hukum (PTN-BH).

“Perjalanan untuk suatu perubahan, bertransformasi ke arah yang lebih baik tentu tidak mudah. Untuk itu UNNES harus belajar kepada perguruan tinggi yang lebih dahulu PTN-BH, karena menjadi PTN-BH perlu kerja keras dan juga kerja sama dengan berbagai pihak untuk mewujudkan visi demi Pendidikan yang lebih baik di Indonesia”, kata Rektor UNNES.

Salah satu langkah nyata untuk mendukung hal tersebut, UNNES menyelenggarakan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan menghadirkan pembicara Plt. Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset, dan Teknologi Prof Ir Nizam MSc DIC PhD IPU ASEAN Eng dan Rektor Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) Prof Drs H Ganefri MPd PhD.

FGD ini mengangkat tema “Penguatan Perguruan Tinggi Berbadan Hukum dan Implementasi Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM)” yang diselenggarakan di Grand Candi Hotel Semarang, 17 s.d 19 Februari 2023.

Dalam kesempatan ini, Plt. Dirjen Dikti Prof Nizam menyampaikan menjadi PTN-BH merupakan keberanian perguruan tinggi keluar dari zona nyaman. Menurutnya perguruan tinggi negeri dapat berkembang secara otonom, mandiri, inovatif, dan kreatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia.

“Pemerintah mendorong untuk memandirikan perguruan tinggi melalui skema perubahan PTN-BH dalam program Kampus Merdeka agar perguruan tinggi dapat berlari, unggul, dan berdaya saing,” jelas Prof Nizam.

Prof Nizam menjelaskan program MBKM yang dijalankan seperti pertukaran mahasiswa, program magang, mengajar di sekolah, membangun desa, proyek kemanusiaan, penelitian, dan sebagainya bertujuan membekali mahasiswa dengan kompetensi dan pengalaman yang nyata.

Dengan begitu, mahasiswa memperoleh pengalaman dan kompetensi yang dibutuhkan di dunia kerja. Hal itu bertujuan dalam menjawab tantangan industri revolusi industri 4.0 yang lebih kompleks.

“Setelah memperoleh sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang unggul dari program MBKM ini, maka akan mewujudkan Indonesia maju yang dicita-citakan bersama,” terangnya.

Sementara itu, Prof Drs H Ganefri MPd PhD yang menceritakan pengalaman UNP dalam menjalankan transformasi PTN-BH lebih dulu.

Selain itu, Prof Ganefri memberikan beberapa masukan berdasarkan pengalaman yang telah dilalui UNP antara lain melakukan standardisasi, mendapatkan pengakuan internasional, dan tidak meninggalkan jati diri UNNES yakni Pendidikan.

Kegiatan ini dihadiri Rektor Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, Rektor Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Rektor UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, Rektor Universitas Mulawarman, dan sivitas akademika UNNES.
