Brief Profile

Statistics and Data Science (SSD) is one of the undergraduate study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Semarang State University, which was established in 2023. The SSD study program produces undergraduate graduates with a S.Stat. degree who are competent and capable in the fields of statistics and data science and make them ready to enter the world of work. Statistics is a multidisciplinary science, so that graduates can work in various fields. The profile of graduates of the Statistics and Data Science undergraduate study program is divided into 2 groups, namely students or researchers and statistics practitioners. Academics and researchers are people who have the education, capacity, and capability to carry out learning in an educational institution (academic field) and/or carry out research activities in their professional development. The profile of graduates as statistics and data science practitioners includes statisticians, data scientists, data analysts, and data technicians (data engineers). The leading fields of study of the Statistics and Data Science study program at UNNES are related to statistical modeling and soft computing data which include applications in various fields of science and practical applications.

The Bachelor of Statistics and Data Science Program is a study program that provides academic education in statistics and data science that develops statistical modeling skills and innovative technologies in data science to create a superior, competent, conservation-minded, and internationally reputable generation.

The mission of the Statistics and Data Science Undergraduate Study Program is:

  1. Provide superior, competent, conservation-oriented, and internationally reputable education and teaching in the fields of statistics, data science, and their applications.
  2. Conduct innovative technological research in the fields of statistical modeling, data science, and their conservation-based applications to support sustainable development.
  3. Conduct community service in the field of statistics and its applications to disseminate data science and meaningful research results to the wider community.
  4. Collaborate with domestic and international institutions to support sustainable development.
