SEMARANG, 16 Mei 2026 – Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) memulai rangkaian proyek riset internasional yang berfokus pada peningkatan kemampuan numerasi anak melalui pemanfaatan teknologi. Kegiatan ini ditandai dengan pelaksanaan workshop STEMTrails yang mengusung judul penelitian “Code, Count, Connect: Enhancing Inclusive Numeracy through AI and Coding integrated STEM Trails in Indonesia”. Proyek strategis ini didanai oleh KONEKSI (Australia-Indonesia Knowledge Partnership Platform).

Penelitian kolaboratif ini menjadi wujud komitmen akademisi dalam mendukung agenda pembangunan berkelanjutan, khususnya SDG 4 (Pendidikan Berkualitas) untuk memastikan pendidikan yang inklusif dan merata, serta SDG 10 (Berkurangnya Kesenjangan) melalui perluasan akses teknologi pendidikan di berbagai wilayah Indonesia.

Workshop yang dilaksanakan pada Sabtu (16/5) di Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Unnes ini menjadi penanda dimulainya kolaborasi antara akademisi, praktisi pendidikan, dan sekolah mitra. Kegiatan tersebut dihadiri oleh sejumlah mitra penelitian, di antaranya Universitas Mulawarman, Universitas Pattimura, Komite Penggerak Numerasi Indonesia (KPNI), serta Indonesian Mathematics Educators Society (I-MES).

Acara secara resmi dibuka oleh Ketua Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Unnes, Prof. Dr. R. Benny Riyanto, S.H., M.Hum., C.N. Dalam sambutannya, ia menekankan pentingnya riset inovatif yang memberikan dampak langsung bagi masyarakat. Hal senada juga disampaikan Dekan FMIPA Unnes, Prof. Dr. Edy Cahyono, M.Si., yang menyatakan dukungan terhadap integrasi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence) dan coding dalam pembelajaran matematika di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Ketua tim peneliti, Dr. rer. nat. Adi Nur Cahyono, menjelaskan bahwa implementasi penelitian berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) ini akan dilaksanakan di tiga wilayah di Indonesia, yaitu Semarang, Samarinda, dan Ambon. Pada masing-masing wilayah, sebanyak 100 siswa sekolah dasar akan terlibat dalam kegiatan penelitian.

“Implementasi penelitian akan kami lakukan di tiga daerah, yaitu Semarang, Samarinda, dan Ambon. Di tiap wilayah, kami melibatkan 100 siswa sekolah dasar. Melalui pendekatan inklusif, kami mengintegrasikan AI dan coding untuk membuat pembelajaran matematika menjadi lebih kontekstual dan dekat dengan lingkungan siswa,” ujar Adi.

Untuk wilayah Semarang, guru dari sekolah mitra turut berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan workshop, yaitu dari SDN 2 Sekaran dan SD Islam Bintang Juara. Keterlibatan guru diharapkan dapat mendukung kesiapan implementasi kurikulum berbasis teknologi yang akan diterapkan kepada siswa.

Melalui program STEMTrails ini, tim peneliti menargetkan hasil penelitian tidak hanya bersifat akademis, tetapi juga memberikan dampak nyata dalam peningkatan kemampuan numerasi siswa sekolah dasar secara inklusif. Selain itu, hasil riset ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rekomendasi strategis bagi pemerintah dalam pengembangan model pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di masa depan.
