One of the target objectives of the Leading University Program for International Cooperation (LUPIC) is to provide adaptive and accessible chemistry learning for all. The Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) serves as a pedagogical tool that transforms ideas into tangible products. As one of the partner universities in the LUPIC collaboration, Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) shares the same spirit.
Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) officially established its FabLab, inaugurated on February 11, 2026. The UNNES LUPIC Team, consisting of Prof. Dr. Woro Sumarni, M.Si., Cepi Kurniawan, Ph.D., Dr. Dimas Gilang Ramadhani, along with partners Dr. Khairiatul Muna (UIN Antasari Banjarmasin) and Dr. Anderson (Universitas Negeri Manado), also attended the inauguration of the FabLab Corner at FKIP Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH).
The FabLab (Fabrication Laboratory) is the result of a partnership between the LUPIC UPI Team and UMRAH to expand LUPIC’s network of activities in the Sumatra region, while also fostering higher education that is adaptive to the development of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 technologies. The opening ceremony began with the traditional Tari Sekapur Sirih performed by five dancers as a welcoming dance for the guests. The reception continued with the recitation of Gurindam 12, composed by Raja Ali Haji, which contains moral advice emphasizing the importance of doing good deeds.

During the opening ceremony, the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation of UMRAH, Dr. Suryadi, S.P., M.H., delivered a speech on behalf of the Rector of UMRAH. Mr. Sung Min Kim from Sogang University, representing Prof. Woo Kon Lee, expressed his hope that the establishment of the FabLab at UMRAH would encourage the emergence of creative and adaptive young innovators who contribute to sustainable education. The FabLab Edu UMRAH opening ceremony was officially marked by the striking of a gong by the Vice Rector III.



Fasilitas FabLab UMRAH dilengkapi dengan berbagai perangkat pendukung seperti mesin 3D The UMRAH FabLab facility is equipped with various supporting devices such as 3D printing machines, CNC machines, digital design tools, and other fabrication equipment that support the design and prototyping process. The presence of this laboratory also opens opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships with national and international institutions.
After the opening ceremony concluded, a group photo session was held with representatives from Sogang University, the LUPIC team from consortium universities, and partner universities. In addition, all invited guests were given the opportunity to tour the FabLab located at FKIP UMRAH.
