Semarang, 24 November 2025 — The Physics Education Study Program of FMIPA UNNES held a Practitioner Lecture in the English course, featuring an inspiring alumna who has built a professional career in Australia over the past seven years. This activity aimed to enrich students’ understanding of English use in global professional contexts.
The invited practitioner, Atika Syah Endarti Rofiqoh, is an alumna of UNNES Physics Education, currently working as a Primary Product Inspector and Quality Supervisor in the horticultural processing industry in Melbourne, Australia. Through a session themed “Navigating Global Career Opportunities,” Atika shared her international career journey and demonstrated how English proficiency can open doors to overseas employment opportunities.

During her presentation, Atika explained various career pathways available to graduates in Physics Education, starting with the Work and Holiday Visa program, her experiences working in the transportation and food industries, and the process of securing a Skills in Demand Visa. She also emphasized the importance of effective communication, cultural adaptation, and understanding technical terminology in English to support performance in a multicultural work environment.
Students actively participated in a dynamic question-and-answer session, raising topics such as strategies for securing jobs in Australia, workplace culture, and a realistic overview of living costs in Melbourne. Atika’s presence provided strong motivation, showing that Physics Education graduates possess valuable competencies applicable across various science-based industries, not only in the education sector.
This practitioner lecture in the English course is expected to strengthen students’ ability to use English for academic and professional purposes. The Physics Education Study Program of FMIPA UNNES remains committed to inviting relevant practitioners to ensure students are well-prepared to face global workforce challenges.
