The Physics Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Semarang State University (UNNES), conducted a working visit to Lemigas (Indonesia’s National Oil and Gas Testing Center) in Jakarta on November 6, 2025. The visit was led by Prof. Dr. Masturi, M.Sc., the Physics Study Program Coordinator, and accompanied by Physics Study Program lecturers Dr. Sunarno, M.Sc., Dr. Ian Yulianti, M.Eng., and Fifin Dewi Ratnasari, M.Sc., the Physics Study Program’s MBKM (National Energy and Mineral Resources) team. The group was received by Dr. Edy Wijanarko, M.Sc., a Lemigas researcher, at the Exploration Building 3, Ciledug, Cipulir, South Jakarta. This meeting marked a concrete step in strengthening the ongoing partnership between UNNES and Lemigas, particularly in the areas of student internships, final project guidance, and curriculum development based on the needs of the energy industry.
During the discussion session, Lemigas expressed its appreciation for the commitment of the UNNES Physics Study Program in building collaborative education and applied research relevant to the needs of the national energy sector. Lemigas welcomed the plan to implement internships and final assignments (TA) for students through a joint mentoring scheme between UNNES lecturers and Lemigas researchers. Furthermore, input was also provided for the Physics Study Program curriculum to strengthen structural geology and exploration geophysics courses, in order to equip students with practical competencies that are more adaptive to developments in exploration technology. This effort is a manifestation of the implementation of SDGs 4 (Quality Education), which emphasizes the importance of quality higher education that is relevant to the world of work.
