Semarang – Students from the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Semarang State University (UNNES), led by Resty Kartika Sari, have successfully secured funding for the Student Creativity Program (PKM) in the Social and Humanities Research (RSH) field from the Indonesian Mathematics and Natural Sciences Institute (LPTK) Association (AMLI). Under the guidance of Mr. Adi Satrio Ardiansyah, S.Pd., M.Pd., the team, consisting of Maylafayza Salsabila Zen, Danella Putri Wulandari, Cahya Sari Ardiani, and Avita Dewi Sila Wardani, developed the innovation “Transformatech.”

Transformatech is an interactive learning website designed to optimize students’ computational thinking skills. This competency is a key focus given that PISA 2022 data (a score of 366) and research findings (Supiarmo & Susanti, 2021) indicate that Indonesian students still lack abstraction and algorithmic thinking skills. To address this challenge, this research was implemented at SMP Negeri 13 Semarang.

This innovation integrates four pedagogical pillars. First, Differentiated Learning presents Geometric Transformation material through videos (visual), audio podcast recordings (auditory), and Scratch simulations (kinesthetic) tailored to students’ learning styles. Second, Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) integrates Ethnomathematics, where students are challenged to design Indonesian Batik motifs using geometric transformation principles by arranging Scratch visual code blocks.

This achievement demonstrates the commitment of the UNNES Mathematics Education Study Program to producing educational innovations that are not only creative, but also measurable, research-based, and relevant to current challenges.
