The Physics Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Semarang State University (UNNES) conducted an academic visit to the Research Center for Quantum Computing and Materials Informatics, Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus) Semarang on October 29, 2025. This activity was led by Prof. Dr. Masturi, M.Sc. as the Coordinator of the Physics Study Program, accompanied by two computing lecturers of the Physics Study Program, namely Dr. rer.nat. Listiyanto, S.Pd., M.Sc. and Fifin Dewi Ratnasari, M.Sc.. The group was received by 3 (three) Udinus researchers, namely Dr. T. Sutojo, S.Si., M.Kom., Achmad Wahid Kurniawan, S.Si., M.Kom., and Setyo Budi, M.Kom., along with students who are members of the research center. This visit marked a significant milestone in strengthening the academic and research network between UNNES and Udinus in the fields of quantum materials, computational physics, and machine learning, in line with their shared commitment to supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education).
During the discussion, Udinus expressed its appreciation for the UNNES Physics student internship program (UNNES PRIGEL) that has been implemented in their research laboratory. The collaboration focuses on the use of machine learning in materials informatics studies, specifically for analyzing and predicting material properties based on quantum physics principles. With the involvement of UNNES Physics students, this joint research is expected to provide new scientific insights that connect computational approaches and the physical characteristics of materials. This research area is highly relevant and strategic, given that quantum materials and artificial intelligence are two key pillars in the development of future technology.

In his response, Prof. Dr. Masturi, M.Si. expressed his appreciation and full support for the wide-open collaboration opportunities between UNNES and Udinus. UNNES expressed its gratitude to Udinus for accepting Physics Study Program students to undertake internships through the UNNES PRIGEL umbrella at the research center. He emphasized that activities like this not only strengthen academic partnerships, but also open up space for students to gain actual and innovation-oriented research experience. The Physics Study Program, FMIPA UNNES hopes that this collaboration can be developed further, not only in the form of internships and joint final project guidance, but also through collaborative research, workshops, and scientific publications. This activity is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of SDGs 17 (Partnership for the Goals), where synergy between higher education institutions plays an important role in building quality education and sustainable research.
